This single marks the original appearance of DOA as recording entities. The original lineup included Pete, Mick Reid, Phil Hurst, Sue James, and Joe Musker. I'm Falling was a minor success, and led to not only more gigs for the embryonic DOA, but a TV debut on Granada TV's programme Celebration. Despite all this, the group broke up in the single's aftermath.
