Haysi Fantazee, hailing from the London Club scene, splashed into the charts and into the hearts of youth of the 80s with their debut album, Battle Hymns for Children Singing in 1982. Formed by Paul Caplin and his fashion model girlfriend Kate Garner, they teamed up with Jeremy Healy to create a group that looked good and made great dance music. While Paul remained in the background writing the music and arrangments, the duo charted four U.K. single and was a staple of groundbreaking U.S. "alternative" radio stations.

The music you will find on this CD is nothing but pure confectionate ear candy. Combing the disparate yet playful sounds of pop, reggae, hillbilly country and club that set the stage for the wild and wacky duo whose eye candy looks lent them to be both silly and sexy at the same time. From the catchy head bobbing song "Shiny Shiny" to the spaghetti western song "John Wayne is Big Leggy" and then on to the tribal chants and beats of "Okay Big Daddy" (originally a b-side) it is an awesomely fun album for any child of the 80s to add to their music collection.

This is a great re-issue to own simply for the use of the original artwork in addition to bonus remix tracks.
