Pete Burns- In Japan
from a Japanese news article

The British rock band Dead or Alive is releasing a new album, "Fragile" after 5 years. With an uplifting dance beat, Pete Burns, the vocalist and the leader of the band sings with unusual vocal with poison . Pete stresses that there was a lack of understanding between the band and the old record label. The band wasn't satisfied with the production atmosphere and they felt reluctant to continue with the label. They made a contract with a new label and they've turned over a new leaf. They took plenty of time and made their best album which may be called their comeback album. They managed to incorporate modern music elements like techno music.

For this 13 track album, they re-recorded their hit songs 'You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)' 'Turn Around And Count 2 Ten", etc.... "There are many new listeners who don't know our music from 80's, so we included those songs to intorduce ourselves to those listeners. But there's no point in including the same tracks. We didn't kill the characteristics of the songs and we gave them new charms. It was hard work re-editing."

Dead or Alive was formed in 1980. They released the single 'You Spin Me Round' after 4 years and it went to no.1 in the UK. Then they became stars. But in the 90's they didn't have any hits and they had a desperate fight. They moved the music base to Italy and Australia and they've continuing to work and release small records.

Drummer Steve Coy says "There are good times and also bad times in life. We can know the value of success by surviving the bad times. I think we've grown up musically and as a human beings during the last 10 years".
