Should be held accountable!!! Popbitch, which has long been enjoying a dubious notoriety by sending out gossip emails about celebrities, recently published some outright lies about Pete, claiming that he had gone mental and recently been sectioned. Since this nasty piece of fiction came out, Pete has had to endure numerous phone calls and emails from journalists on the subject. To set the record straight, Pete is fine, was NEVER sectioned, and was in the midst of working on the band's upcoming album when this storm broke. It couldn't have happened at a worse time, as he was not only busy with his career but dealing with the recent death of a family member. Time spent dealing with the loss has been spent instead talking to reporters so that a denial can be made public. Some may see Popbitch as harmless and even laughable amusement, but the fact is that stories like these can be seriously damaging to an artist's career. For example, what promoter would pay for gigs up front if they think that the singer is about to go mental? Why would a record company invest in Dead Or Alive after such a damaging rumour is circulated on a grand scale: a fortune was lost on Adam Ant. Popbitch has been irresponsible and malicious in publishing these lies, and until recently, there has been no contact address or number for maligned entertainers and indignant fans to protest or demand retractions. We now have one, and encourage people to contact the founder (Neil Stevenson, who is also editor of THE FACE magazine!!!) to let him know what you think of his slanderous mailings. Several Dead Or Alive fans have contacted the RIGHT STUFF expressing indignation, and now they can complain to the right parties. Pop Bitch
