Yahoo! offers DOA fans the opportunity and tools to create online clubs. There is currently a DEAD OR ALIVE FAN FORUM (created by lostluv2) that has over 70 members and features a photo gallery, message board, and chat room. Anyone can create a Yahoo! club, but with a popular one already in existance, why not be creative?
Not all DOA fan clubs in the past have been official. Donn Steenkist, who co-runs the Dutch Dead Or Alive Page, used to run a small fanzine and recieved acknowledgment and thanks from Pete for a job well done. Anyone can do the same. There's only two stipulations: A) at no point can you charge for membership to your club, be it online or off and B) you cannot sell merchandise. When Javier first started his DOA site in early 1996, he contacted Darren Antolic, then president of the International Chrysis Hotline, for guidelines and approval. Darren wrote back saying that Pete and Steve "gave the project their blessing", but wanted it understood that no merchandise could be sold nor any kind of profit generated by Javi's intended site.
As of this point there is no official DOA fan club. Fanzines, e-zines, online clubs are all fine as long as it doesn't cost to join and there's no profit generated.
